Ibiza is famous for its hippy markets, street markets and those that sell second-hand products. Markets are held throughout the year but most of them are held in the summer season.
Have you heard of Ibiza's famous Hippy Market? It is one of the main attractions of the island and a must for every tourist. But this is not the only market you can visit, there are many events all over the island so no matter which location you are spending your holidays in, you can enjoy a fabulous shopping experience practically all over the island.
Ibiza has deep artistic roots that date back to the early 1960s, when artisans, painters and designers flocked to the island to experience its unique atmosphere, incredible light and freedom of expression. All this is expressed through the markets held on the island, where you can buy clothing, jewelry and handicrafts.
The largest markets are the Punta Arabí Hippy Market on Wednesday in Es Caná and the Las Dalias Hippy Market on Saturday in San Carlos.
Below is a list of regular markets held throughout the island, some open only in the summer season, others throughout the year. Each has its own unique atmosphere. Some are important local craft markets, others bring you exotic jewelry, textiles and clothing from places like South America, India and Indonesia. Just take a look to decide which one to visit.
Note that dates and times may change during the year. We have provided websites where possible, so check before you go.
